Jordan Peele’s fourth feature film has been removed from Universal’s 2024 slate.

hopefully it's because he wants to make sure he's not pushed to do something other than his vision. he feels like the victim of audience creep, even though all his movies are made by major studios which is definitely going to warp how his work is seen, and I can't imagine how to deal with that type of headspace

I like peele but his works post-get out feel like really well done student films. fans can “you didn’t get it!!” all they want but Nope was kinda dumb. sorry

i didn't like nope at first, partially because i really went into it expecting a horror movie (imo it's not that at all -- not the right genre, nor is it scary) and partially because of ways i felt it didn't come together. but since then i've come to think of it as strangely moving and beautiful, and ambitious in ways that are really admirable. in a way i think it was even more ambitious than get out, but get out just came together so perfectly and was so brilliantly executed.
