I wanted to say this kind of art was still normal to find on cards and calenders until recently but then I have to remember it's 2023 and not the 70s/80s lol. I still have my mom's Max und Moritz and Struwwelpeter books and at least 3 of my cards from my childhood have cabbage fairies.

One of my cards has a sleeping cabbage fairy with a man nearby who looks like he's contemplating harvesting the cabbage. It's also for new years and I think it's supposed to be a nod to Der Krautesel, where a hungry man steals a cabbage and turns into a donkey after eating it. Kind of a 'make wise decisions' kind of thing. Most these cards justly thinly veiled threats I think lol
