That tweet is such an exaggeration. Her son JUST died and she always disliked Spider. I think it would have been interesting to leave this scene in

Yeah I agree. I love this female ragey aspect to her, it would have added more depth to her grief.

Part of me feels like it filmmakers shying away from making her too unlikeable as a woman because audiences couldn’t POSSIBLY believe a woman capable of certain acts of violence. We’re too ~good and ~inherently motherly to have rage, character flaws, or moments where we’d commit a heinous act. 🤮

That's what I was thinking as a possible reason too. That or maybe they thought it showed too much emotion from Quaritch before his redemption arc

It's so interesting how the Avatar movies are so big box office wise but....I feel like that where it ends? They seem largely forgotten afterwards.

It really is strange how both movies have made so much money and yet barely have an active fandom other than people praising the graphics.

Maybe because it's mostly about blue people. It's harder to yassify or Woobify or develop certain strong feeling toward blue people that you can project onto these fictional people.

I'm along time reader so fictional people won't deter people from certain strong feeling.

I think it's the blue skin issue

I always liked the quote “the ground is fertile and I want to dig” as it applies to an IP and fan artists. It doesn’t even have to be good; there just has to be something there; another layer to explore.
But the ground of Avatar is just barren; the characters and the conflict are too one-dimensional. Nothing inspires

Must be a very slow news day…
Anyway, the movie was drawn-out and boring.

Eh, I can see why they cut it because it doesn’t really add anything. Which coincidentally is the working title of this movie.
