ughhh no, the one thing i like about the pelican brief that there was zero romance between the leads. that last scene was not romantic in any way.

i watched notting hill and pelican brief over the pandemic, and i was surprised to see how blandly written her characters were considering notting hill is viewed as like...a classic julia rom com (maybe it's viewed more as a hugh vehicle, but whatever). like julia's character in notting hill has no personality. in the pelican brief, she starts out semi-interesting, but the rest of the movie is her running around scared.
