Season 6, Part 2 of The Crown is now streaming on Netflix. The final six episodes of the final season pick up where Part 1 left off after Diana's death and continue through Charles and Camilla's wedding.

The last few episodes were meh. But I did like

And it may have been my period but I cried

[Spoiler (click to open)]when young Lilibet asked Margaret if she was coming inside to have breakfast with their parents and then the camera turns to current Margaret as she said, "No, not this time."

And I think because my birthday is next Saturday it made me think about getting older and how our bodies are changing again, getting weaker and frailer as we age, and people we knew began to die one by one.

[Spoiler (click to open)]Nah, it ends with Charles marrying Camilla and Elizabeth making a speech where everyone thinks she'll announce she's stepping down so Charles can be king and she considers it before she's like "nah this shit is for life".

She doesn't die, but she plans her funeral before her 80th birthday as it's "procedure."

The last scene is her walking in the church (I'm assuming Westminister Abbey?) and she walks by a coffin with the crown on top and the two Elizabeths (Olivia Colman and Claire Foy) in black to her right and left behind her. Then she makes the long walk to the church's door and leaves

I didn’t like the last season much but I did enjoy the first four episodes of this one. I think they did as good of a job as they could with an event like Diana and Dodi’s death, it’s already been covered and explained and exhausted by so many other sources. I do think this show is way too easy on Charles. Reading Harry’s book and one of the things that shocked me most was how cold hearted Charles was when telling the boys about Diana’s death. He basically went in right after he found out and was like Your mum died sorry about it and left poor Harry and William alone all night 😭

I binged the second half, the writing was so clunky and cheesy. Embarrassing to watch in parts. I enjoyed Carole Middleton's scheming though. And Mohamed referring to the Dracula royal family.

I want to know why they decided to give Charles the winner edit, I don't remember the middle seasons that much but I feel like they showed a much more petulant, whinier and meaner side of him? Now he's the only emotionally intelligent member of the family for some reason.

William is just so dull, kind of a shame that the more interesting family members (Margaret, Anne, Harry) are 'the spares' and we're stuck with boring protagonists.

I wouldn't be surprised if they got pressured by the studio. Paper tiger or not, he's still someone with a lot of influence especially when it comes to discussion government grants/cutbacks in the arts.

Granted, I haven't seen a single episode of this show so I might not know what I'm talking about at all, lol
