I was in like middle school when he got his first show on NBC and my friends and I were almost instantly obsessed. His humor was different from the other late night guys and his musical acts were AWESOME. I became a They Might Be Giants fan because I first saw them on an old episode of Conan

My first intro to TMBG was Kablam!, when they aired the “Doctor Worm” video. It’s such a core memory for me lol

idk why people love him so much. Him pretending to have a giant boner every time a woman with cleavage came on was so gross. I also hated the contempt he had for "nerdy" stuff, like he would pander to gamers but act like it was the lamest dorkiest shit ever while doing it.

Some of the episodes are genuinely laugh-out-loud funny. In my case it's "I have to stop cooking because it's not safe to laugh this much while handling knives" funny (I love listening to podcasts while doing kitchen stuff)
