I already adore him. I saw people say he was overshadowed by 14 but usually all we get from a Doctor right after regeneration is one line then we see them months later. I feel like with all the time we were given, we know exactly who this Doctor is and I'm so excited to see more.

i can't wait for his christmas special! i can see why people felt that way, but even as a huge DT fan i think they did a great job passing the baton as a soft reset to bring new kids and families and old fans back to the show.

IA. Usually with regenerations it’s just like half a second at the end of an episode. Fifteen got a chance to actually say and do stuff and began to establish himself as a character.

I just watched the first Dr Who special on Disney+ and it exceeded my expectations! I always loved Tennant's Who and Donna together. The Meep made me laugh my ass off and I hope it will be back. Looking forward to watching Parts II and III and seeing Ncuti's debut.

Yeah, I know some folks complained RTD leaned too heavily on his old bag of tricks but they are a favorite for a reason! The specials were a good mix of the doctor stumbling into ongoing events, the companions sometimes saving the day, and just a little bit with the Doctor's old foes where the Doctor is totally central. The Moffat era leaned too heavily on the Doctor at the center, and even in the Jodi era the companions felt less important. Ncuti seems like he'll be a very warm Doctor :)

Are the new seasons exclusively gonna be on Disney+ ??? Or was that just for the special???

Wondering because MAX still has it on their and I don't have disney atm

New seasons are exclusives to Disney as they have now become a production partner in DW if I'm not mistaken.

It's also part of the reason why they're rebranding the show as Season 1 since MAX has the rights to S1-13 until July 27th 2025.

WB was real stupid to allow Disney to pair with BBC instead of with them.

I used to just watch it on BBC America, but I guess they are no longer airing them.

Hate the look of it so much lmaooo but I love the inclusion of the proverb and I'm so hyped to see Ncuti's Doctor in action properly. I did not love the outcome of the last special but I will say that the proper tone helps extraordinarily. RTD obviously knows how Doctor Who is supposed to feel and I'm actually ridiculously excited for the show again.

i was extremely late to the last post so i'm gonna re-comment it here:

[Spoiler (click to open)]i don't love the idea of there just being like a white antipope doctor in the wings for racists to call the REAL doctor, so i hope they are really intentional when/if they bring David back.

i HOPE what they were doing by mentioning that he hasn't had time to slow down and process + the last clip of him telling stories to the family is doing the set up for him to tell the story of the time war to Donna for a Paul McGann limited series of some sort.
