Wow, I thought he had long passed. 101 is a good run.

I had no idea he did Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, and Fried Green Tomatoes. Some of my favorite movies.

And he was so active well into his 90s! He wrote a book about his life, and he was still popping up giving interviews in the years after. He was still being socially progressive and pushing for change. He did good work, and lived a good life. That seems like a purposeful life well-lived.

Can't even be sad if you die at 101 after creating basically a style and genre of television.

The cause of death is he was 101 years old.

lol @ the cause of death being "well fuck man what do you think"

As I learned last year with my grandmother passing at 85, above a certain age and with certain conditions they don't even bother with an autopsy lol. "Hospitalized for heart valve trouble? And she was how old? 85? Yeah, just put that down on the form." (This is not a direct quote)

The cause of death is he was 101 years old. 😂 But he was so young!

He’s a true Hollywood legend

It sounds like he might have inspired National Treasure which seems so appropriate because he was a national treasure.

In the early 2000s, he mounted a tour with a copy of the Declaration of Independence.
