I can’t stand Val. Has he ever been given a bad partner before? I swear he gets all the cute young things who can already do the basics. Especially since Mark and Derek no longer do the show. Daniella remains the freestyle queen. Her one with Iman Shumpert is 🐐

I remember when Maks bitched that he would win more if he had better partners like Derek (which was unfair, he had partners like Mel B and Brandy, he just was a mid choregrapher). But he never said anything about the favoritism his brother got.

I watched this finale at my parents' place last night, haven't watched the show for years at this point, since well before COVID, and during a conversation about dancers who aren't on the show anymore, my mom (who isn't one to talk about celebrities' private lives as a general rule) out of nowhere goes, "I wonder if Max is a nightmare irl, because Peta has seemed totally browbeaten for years, since they got married."

All of that violin faffing about (TM Len) at the beginning of Xochitl’s freestyle showed how selfish he was being. This is the finale. It’s her chance to show off whatever dance skills she has to wow the judges and the audience so she can win. So what does Val do? Wastes 30 seconds fucking around so that HE can show off instead of showcasing his partner. He played the violin in someone else’s routine a few seasons ago too.

i was so excited at first and voted weekly for xochitl because i wanted a latina to win and she is good but her constant fake shock got annoying quick. even last night with the “really?!” after julianne said “let’s get your scores” and her acting like she didn’t know how many times she’s had perfect scores. idk, maybe it’s my hatred for kids clouding my judgement 😂

Accidentally angry reacted to you haha. I really like Xochitl and was rooting for her but she was getting a bit annoying by the end, I must admit. Somebody on reddit or here said that she seems like she tries really hard to come off as humble, but it's clear that she's not haha

i found myself thinking she’s actually a pretty bad actress. i’m happy that a poc (and one who was consistently good) won though. it also means that constant “omg, really?!” and giggling has stopped. i swear val had to be more annoyed than us by the end 😂

Xochitl was great but compared to Charli who was flawless, it was kind of lackluster? I don't know. I've become a Jason Mraz stan now.
