The trailer was suppose to drop tomorrow, Dec 5 at 8am EST, but leaked today.

Rockstar went ahead and officially dropped the trailer.

It's kind of both tbh. GTA5 has a plot where you follow three different protagonists and there's also the online mode where it's more of an open world sandbox.
