Argh, sexuality is so complicated and it's especially complicated for entertainers who have to grapple with their sexuality in the public eye. I hope she's alright and I'm sorry this happened

Technically yes, and the interview was by Variety so it makes sense that it was brought up. But she was there to get an award for music so I can see how she'd be annoyed. But she was very gracious about it during the interview.

Considering her follow ups it’s pretty clear that she didn’t mean for that to be a coming out moment.

I don't think she was aiming for a coming out moment, but my perspective is based on her saying this in the interview*:

I just don't really believe in ["coming out"]. Why can't we just exist?

She also said it's exciting because it's cool that people know now, but that she was also nervous talking about it.

* Or one of them? I'm not sure if maybe she didn't like that being a constant topic or if this was the interaction she's referring to.

I’m…confused. I thought she came out herself a few weeks ago, no? In an interview? Don’t get me wrong, harassing her about her sexuality ain’t it, my gay ass was outed in 2008 and it was fucking terrible, but…I was under the impression she already came out herself recently? Am I missing something? Genuinely confused here, I swear this ain’t a bad faith take.
