I really feel for her. Pregnancy loss is its own kind of grief and it's hard to just pick up and move on.

On a petty level, though, this line had BAG screaming into a pillow:

I've been through other similar issues, but not with someone who I was so in love with.

lmao I picked that up too, this poor woman felt lukewarm and looked bored in every photo for decades.

He got to her so young. I wonder when the glamor fell apart.

It's nice that people are being more transparent about it now. It's always happened, but you just weren't supposed to talk about it. My maternal grandmother waited days & was super stressed out when she got her first period because nobody ever informed about it - you just didn't talk about things & it's nice that people are now more open about it. I hope it makes women who are struggling feel less alone to know how many other women out there also had miscarriages, stillbirths, etc.. Something like maybe 20% of pregnancies result in miscarriages.

So many girls/teens thought they were dying when they got their first period and were not informed about what it was, or what to do about it.

tbh that 20% stat is probably outdated by now. Between the ability to monitor for ovulation at home and early response tests, it now looks more like 35-40% when you factor in early chemicals.

It's shockingly common, and it feels like people only really opened up about it en masse in maybe the last 5-10 years.

20% is recorded miscarriages, many miscarriages can occur without knowledge. I only really clocked in my older years that when people say they're trying to have a baby it doesn't just mean trying to get pregnant but to also carry a full term

I want to add that Audrey Kawasaki's works are in this book! Megan's poems are interesting and I like the one with 'For three years '

I can't imagine how terrible this must be to go through once, let alone twice. She's dealt with so much shit in her life and I think we don't know the half of it.
looking forward to reading her poetry book!
