Unexpected but genuinely great to hear. It's the bare minimum, but people showing public support for her is so rare, let alone a director with such a dudebro-y fanbase. And I think the tone is perfect, just brushing off how preposterous the entire way she's been treated is.

Besides "His movies are trash" and "the furor around said movies he cultivates can grow to be toxic" (I remember the director of GvK going "hey can yo get them to stop review bombing my movie that has nothing to do with you" and he apparently went "shrug?") I don't hear bad things about him.

I'm a broken record on this, but casts and crews never have a bad word to say about him and it sounds like his sets are very nice places to be.

Plus I still commend him for slotting in Tig Notaro to replace a r*pist when he wasn't required to.

I thought this was lovely and he also said nice things about Ray Fisher, but he opens up by talking about how he's still in contact with Ezra Miller and thinks they're great.😬

I do love that he is openly Amber, no hesitation about it though. It makes her current Aquaman director/costars look pathetic.

His movies still suck (sometimes in profoundly misogynistic ways), but apart from not really doing enough to call off his rabid stans, I've never heard a bad thing about him personally, and frankly that's more important. So I'm not taking it ALL back!!
