The 2023 Billboard Music Awards did not air on television this year. They were pre-taped in advance and shared on socials. I'll add more as they're uploaded. Here are a few.

it always makes me sad bc i think she can sing and when she first came out, i reallllly enjoyed her music. but then she became this and it's just so sad

the song was made in 2017 (you can tell), and they sat on it because they knew it sucked. and then last year they released it and idk why. i have theories but... they should have kept that song in the vault.

iirc i think the contract that they had before to air on whatever channel they used to air on ended, and they couldn't find a new channel willing to air them

the viewership must be too low for anyone to want to give them a new contract

Sounds similar to what happened at the SAG awards. Their contract with TNT ended and went straight to stream which honestly made it more interesting in their case.

Most likely. They've taken a hiatus from airing on television before.

The Billboard Music Awards show has been held annually since 1990, with the exception of the years 2007 through 2010. The event was previously staged in December, but has been held in May since returning in 2011.

NewJeans did so well. I'm so glad they did OMG. lol OMG got kinda overshadowed by Ditto because Ditto was dominating the charts but I love OMG more so I'm glad it got its moment in the sun. (Well... as much sun as a not aired on TV Billboard Music Awards ceremony is, lmao)
