i just read Idol by Louise O'Neill and i devourrrred it omg it was so good, i love how her main characters are never good people but she writes them in a way you can't help being sympathetic at the same time. this book in particular, even tho i could see on the page that the main character was being manipulative i was still second guessing my feelings lol it was too real tbh

Fun post, thank you OP!!

I’m not huge on actual holiday books but I do have a book I bought for the cover alone to read, The Arctic Curry Club by Dani Reed. There’s a snowy dinner party! And a baby polar bear!!!

Otherwise I’m on a huge non-fiction kick so I’m sure that will be continuing in December. I’m finding fiction to be such a slog idk why. It’s a bummer.

I'm going to try to read some books I got from the library instead of slinking back to my e-reader like I usually do, lol. I got "A Wolf Called Wander" which I read was cute and heartbreaking and "Whistle at Night and They Will Come: Indigenous Horror Stories" by Alex Soop which had a creepy cover so I immediately grabbed it. Although I always end up not caring for short story compilations because I feel like there's usually 1-2 great stories and then a lot of "eh" ones, but... why not.

Ooh the Christmas Swap sounds fun💚❤️
I’m currently reading a very autumnal read (The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches) but my friend gave me a Christmas-y book last year called Eight Perfect Hours so I’ll read that in December.

ive moved into the holiday chick lit portion of my saved books. currently started Christmas Baggage. I dont love the "cranky man who is won over by the bright eyed nerdy girl" trope already so... we'll see. i have a sad one saved (I think its called One Last Gift?) whose last book was the last book that truly took by surprise because I didnt fully read the description.
