Wasn’t this just a civil suit not a criminal suit? From my understanding the results would have been monetary regardless if it went to trial or not and jail was not an option.

I wish people would be careful about outing other victims, like the thing about Usher. I get it's a rumor at this point and I'm aware I'm on this site, but like- if there's any truth, victims deserve privacy.

i'm glad she got to tell her story and tell the world what a monster he is, while also not having to relive that trauma in court or deal with the inevitable nasty people that would start trying to discredit her online

he is clearly guilty as fuck and didn't want to risk whatever else could come out during a trial. or possible fear that the longer this is drawn out and the more attention it gets, the more likely other survivors would be to come out. he's probably hoping this will be forgotten within a month :/
