It's trying very hard to not be unflattering to either. Which thus far it has achieved by keeping Camilla barely involved

I think the closer it gets to present day the more it seems like a lifetime movie.

The first season was so good, I just remember being totally blown away how the music and the imagery were as much of a character. The end scene with the photographer and Elizabeth was so powerful. More recent seasons have felt kind of like a different show.
