Also I bought Study for Obedience the second the Giller Longlist was announced. There is nothing the Giller prize committee loves more than awarding non-Canadian fiction through loopholes.

I've heard it's super, super boring if you're an actual writer/work in publishing. This is partially why the Gillers are, and always have been, the absolute worst.

Dr Mads, who is a (Swedish??) doctor who has worked in Gaza for the past 16 years through MSF, reported today that there are Israeili snipers surrounding thr hospital and killing all the nurses and healthcare workers still trying to help patients. including killing a nurse who was making her way to babies in incubators in the NICU ward.
