  • The Scotiabank Giller prize ceremony was interrupted last night by protestors denouncing Scotiabank's involvement
  • Scotiabank, which now funds the literary award, and has naming rights, has an investment in Elbit Systems, an Israeli weapons manufacturer
  • The three protestors were led away and eventually arrested and charged with obstruction and using forged documents (OP note: I assume that's how they got into the ceremony)
  • Canadian-Scottish writer Sarah Bernstein won the 100k Canadian literary prize for Study For Obedience

I hope the charges are dropped. Kudos to the protestors.
