I've learned more about the history of the entire geographical area in the past month than I ever knew in my entire life. There's no rationalizing with anyone who can justify the murder of civilians, especially in such large numbers.

Something that was very eye opening to me was just how the current state of Israel was established. It was never universally approved, contrary to some teachings that it is the promised land. It always comes back to Europeans or America trying to expand their sphere of influence, and Britain did so by encouraging Jewish people to settle in Palestine. Once the British withdrew from mandatory Palestine, there was a power vacuum, and the Zionists organized a government that was legitimized by the US and USSR. And literally the next day, there was the first of several Arab-Israeli wars, which continue to this day.
