I still love Harry Potter and always will, they were great books and insanely fun reads to me. That said though, I don't rewatch the movies, or have any tattoos, or even think about that series other than when others bring it up fuming and frothing at the mouth over it, whether it be at people who still enjoy it, or telling people not to, or trying to decipher the meaning and lives behind the people who do very much enjoy it-I think overall, just butt out of peoples series interests. Lol. It really doesnt matter. It's the biggest nothing burger there is-like, omg i cant believe you like reading rainbow because-holy fuck

I used to be in between a Level 1 and 2 Potterhead. I would do a holiday rewatch of at least the first 4 movies every year up until idk 6-7 years ago? I really can’t bring myself to engage with it anymore since her vile comments have totally soured and sucked out any joy I ever found in the series.

I like him but I’m going to judge him for putting people who write HP fan fiction at the bottom of the iceberg, because it’s such a typical thing for men to think that writing fanfiction is the most ridiculous/nutjob thing you can do in fandom when it’s known that the majority of people who engage in fan fiction are women. People who write fan fiction are not on the same level as beyond die hard obsessed Potterheads who try to change their legal name to a HP character.

what kills me when dudes mock fanfic writers is that male fanfic writers 100% exist - the difference is they get paid by marvel or dc or every movie studio under the sun to put their shitty spin on beloved characters

there are plenty of fanfic writers just as (or more) capable of steering the IP than those dudes. the difference isn’t talent, it’s opportunity lol
