i saw priscilla last weekend and didn't enjoy it -- [Spoiler (click to open)]it was strange to come away from a film wherein we learn absolutely nothing about the titular character. priscilla is a void and exists to respond and react to elvis. what does she like? what does she really want? we never find out, and when it feels like we might get something, the movie ends. i guess as a portrait of an abusive relationship, it's fine, but as a biopic idk they should've called it elvis and me like the book so no one would expect anything beyond that and moved on

anyway i've always found sofia's work boring and white and vapid and this was no different

This sounds exactly like what I would be expecting from a Sofia Coppola film. :/ I keep giving her a chance, but I don't end up liking her movies.

seeing the marvels on saturday bc i always see the mcu movies opening weekend and am def gonna keep it up when it’s a female director and female-led movie

very much looking forward to/curious about dream scenario!

i legit had thoughts about seeing the marvels earlier but id rather stick pins in my eyes for 1hr 45mins instead so that thought went away real quick.

anyway my a-list reservations are fully booked so no in-theater watches until next week.
