I think the whole family is/was kind of in denial about that, in part because I truly believe that Priscilla herself has complicated feelings towards him and really loved him despite or maybe because of the grooming and emotional abuse.

She def fed Lisa Marie an idealized image of their relationship. I feel sad that even as an adult Lisa Marie was never able to realize that her father did terrible things to her mom but that kind of realization is really painful to have.

Probably harder too when her dad had died. Trying to work on hard things when the parent is deceased is literal hell.

She might not want it, but let's also remember how many times we've said here "It was right for so-and-so to be exposed as a rapist / pedo / harasser. It sucks for his family & his kids have my sympathy, but you don't get to hide from allegations because you have a kid."

Since I read Priscilla's book years ago, let me remind anyone who hasn't read it Priscilla said she & Elvis used to take underage nudes together. Priscilla used to make awkward excuses at the stores why she bought so much film. That's direct from the horse's mouth.

I also read it years ago. I always thought it was disturbing how he told her to dress, wear makeup, do her hair, etc.

I saw Priscilla and enjoyed it but found parts of it difficult to watch as an abuse survivor myself. It’s based on a book Priscilla wrote so it’s her story to tell.
