She was in one of the most lovely and inclusive-ish TV shows for a long time (Schitt’s Creek). So this behaviour is pretty surprising

Gross. I can't believe she not only had this idea, but also spent time preparing this costume and it never occurred to her what a horrible idea this is.

Also, I'm guessing Depp fans are also upset about this, so she probably got... less acclaim... than she expected.
