It's just getting dressed up for a photoshoot that bores me. If you're not attending a party, trick or treating with your kids, etc than I really don't care.

I truly don’t understand the want/need to do a whole photo shoot for a Halloween costume, of all the excessive things celebs do that’s one of the most egregious

I feel like if the people who dressed up for photoshoots went out like that, we'd get photos of them at parties and such.

I'm wearing my first real Halloween costume this year. Growing up, my parents didn't do Halloween and wouldn't buy my sister and I costumes for the alternatives we did do. Then as an adult, I just didn't want to spend the money or hunt down a costume that would work. My littlest niece is going to be Mirabel from Encanto (a very blonde Mirabel but at least she has the curls!), and I'm going to be her Luisa. She's over the moon. A friend made the skirt for me.

Or they're going to private parties and the photoshoots are the only way to share the costumes because there is nothing to promote, can't promote because of the strike.
