At the time, CMM was the most famous of the three because he had been a recurring character on Dawson's Creek and Gilmore Girls. Erin Foster had guest starred on two shows by the time she and CMM broke up in 2002. Sophia had a handful of credits before OTH (a few guest star roles, two tv movies, a minor role in Van Wilder).
