I watched the new ep. It surprisingly held my interest after what I thought was a pretty unfortunate drop-off in quality last season, especially when the finale was Johnathan Majors chewing scenery.
Ke Huy Quan was nice to see, too! I'm going to be cautiously excited for the rest of the season. Though I do wonder why the original director/EP Kate Herron left :/
Critics were mixed on this for 2nd season but it still has some of the best visuals/set design and general sci-fi concepts I've seen in a while.
Jonathon Majors casts (somewhat literally) a shadow over everything but I am amused how much his people must hate how his character is framed as the greatest evil to ever exist, like lol.
Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson and Ke Huy Quan are great, and it looks better and is so much better written than all the other Marvel shows…I just don’t know if it will mean anything in the end. And I’m kinda disappointed that Sylvie is back lol. I really don’t need a romance between her and Loki …now Loki and Mobius is a different story…
I kind of hated the season finale but I really liked this premiere.
[Spoiler (click to open)] Loki and Mobius should kiss. it took over a decade for me to find a Loki ship I like but. I am team let the old men kiss.
the scenes that were just Loki, Mobius, and OB were the most fun I’ve had watching a Marvel thing in a minute
don’t know how much they had to change in post production wrt to Jonathan Majors but damn does that feel like the elephant in the room.
I will never understand why most of the Disney+ shows look better than the movies. not the CGI, but the lighting and directing…
FATWS had the same color palette as Cap2/Cap3, but the lighting was so good that the colors didn’t look fucking dull and gray like a Russo Bros movie. Ms. Marvel had such life to it, I loved the way they used neon and that the colors were so saturated and pretty. and then The Marvels looks so freaking washed out whenever they show a scene that takes place on Earth in the trailer. Loki has incredible set design, great lighting, ambitious directing (some great shots
