"Their heads spun 360 degrees. They vomited up green sludge. They violently shouted curse words...No, not the demonically possessed girls in 'The Exorcist: Believer' - the awful movie’s furious audience." - Johnny Oleksinski, New York Posthttps://t.co/41epWJpA04 pic.twitter.com/xtpK3ap51j

From the start, this just seemed like a pure money-making scheme. No new vision or ideas or actual creativity behind it.
Exorcism movies bore me in general, but I recently watched the Pope’s Exorcist, and while it wasn’t a good movie, it was mildly entertaining (and seemingly better and more original than this)

The Pope's Exorcist was so fun. I mean it was terrible lol but I had a blast watching it... Russell Crowe ate that shit up.

Paul F Tompkins is recapping that movie on the Halloween ep of Too Scary, Didn't Watch. Cant' wait!

I was going to see Exorcist but will skip over it in favor of When Evil Lurks, a joint US/Argentinian horror film which is actually getting decent/good reviews...

Now I'm intrigued! I bet we'd make the devil run for the hills just by our inflation rate alone lol

When Evil Lurks is rad! I saw it at TIFF and it has a lot of gruesome parts. The effects are great.

I find slasher horror/exorcist horror boring and this looked like the most boring of the lot. Even fans of the genre knew they were being fed slop with this.

"Unlike Green’s Halloween trilogy, which served up diminishing returns with each new installment, Believer condenses that downward trajectory into the first chapter."
