Something was UP with JP, I'm a couples therapist and love watching this show to the dynamics of the people who decide to get engaged and from the very first meeting he was acting so off, the way he was kissing her and just staring at her intently, barely talking reminded me of junior high when you were trying to eat lunch and talk with a guy your friend told you liked you. It was very strange and I don't believe that the makeup was a his main issue, I think it was him being able to tell she wasn't that into him.
That make-up excuse was BS…unless he’s part of those weird manosphere places that promote these kinds of ideas. Maybe he just couldn’t perform on camera? I assume the cameras in the pods are less noticeable?
Didn't he open up about having an abusive mother? He wasn't her victim (directly) but she was abusive towards his sisters and he had to witness that, if I remember correctly. So yeah, I definitely think he has a lot of issues.
Ah yes, I think I remember this now (I watched while folding clothes and was in and out of the room), that would explain his demeanor a lot. I'm so glad Taylor didn't put up with it.
I can’t believe that there are only two couples at this point. I thought s2 was gonna be the biggest trainwreck in terms of couples but at least people *made it to the altar*.
i heard there was at least one or two other couples that made it to the altar. I guess they had to be pretty boring for the show to not even feature them and stick with just 2 couples. I bet they were disappointed Uche and Aaliyah wouldn't give it a second try, or Chris and Johnie.
I heard that one couple that went to Mexico was cut-off because the girl had a whole ass boyfriend waiting at home who she is actually married to now. It's the blonde Vet girl and the Trumpy guy with his belly hanging out.
This season is such a pointless mess. Apparently they said they had more engaged couples after the pods but just didn’t film them?!
Now they have to make the content stretch and it shows. I only really like Milton. Just get in complete sociopaths and narcissists next season to make it more entertaining.
OP, I agree with all your thoughts. Except I feel something weird was going on with Aliya as well.
imagine getting on one of these shows, getting engaged, and then not even get picked as one of the ones who get all the nice stuff / get followed (which i am sure is that actual reason these folks go on this show)
One of them made it all the way to the altar, and they ended up cutting them! The theory I've seen on them is that there was some kind of contract issue, but this season has been such a drag. I need more couples.
I actually liked Stacey until she kept calling Izzy daddy then insisting the man pay for dinner every time. I get why someone wouldn’t think his “lost and found” was funny or cute but she was sooooo dramatic about it. It ain’t that deep, girl.

Right?? When she first started talking about money it was almost aspirational because she really valued saving and building a retirement then it’s because her dad pays for a lot of stuff and expects her man to do the same.
Her bringing up how poor her dad grew up felt pointless since she didn’t grow up the same way.
I also feel like she should have mentioned how she wants everything to be ~luxurious~ before leaving the Pods but I guess she knew no guy would want to deal with that. She should befriend Costner’s ex
