i'd watch the second at least. the first three movies are their own little trilogy and can stand alone.

but the first 3 are good in general!

i'm honestly surprised that the first one doesn't have a higher rating (50% tomatometer) because even as a standalone movie i think it's really good and isn't a torture porn gorefest like a lot of the other movies.

but a horror movie getting such a high score is awesome since critics hate horror. i still don't know if i have high hopes for this movie but i still really want to watch it. debating if i rewatch all the saw movies before doing so though.

meanwhile i'm still suffering through my 61 days of the worst horror movies challenge lol (jk i'm kind of loving it). i went with worst rated movies on the tomatometer bc i was curious about what critics say is that bad vs what i a trash horror goblin finds bad.

Do you ever watch Rifftrax or MST3K? They are a great way to enjoy horrible films. My husband and I watch a riffed film once a week. Can't wait for spooky time movies!

i don't, but i really should! i know they've done episodes on a bunch of the movies i'm watching for this challenge lol.

where do you watch them? i know mst3k has some episodes on netflix.

I have a subscription to rifftrax.com. Cheap and worth the money. I'm also a founding member of the Gizmoplex, which is the new MST3K streaming service, but I think that subscription is generally more expensive. I think you can get MST3K episodes thought the Shout! TV ad-on through Amazon. That was cheap too last time I had it.

The Creator deserves higher than a 67% it was so good. Is it great gowns beautiful gowns? To an extent, yes, but those gowns are jaw-dropping and I was so fucking hooked.

I haven't seen a Saw movie since Saw 2 lol.

I want to see The Creator. I don't know much about it but the ads keep popping up on YouTube.

I loved it, as did the friend I dragged along LOL. They made a visually gorgeous movie with a fraction of the budget of an MCU movie and a $4,500 camera and it's just breathtaking.

saw it yesterday, absolutely great movie, and with a proper plot and logistics around it. it's definitely not for the faint of heart at all (like myself and fellow audience members were full body cringing and grimacing at how hardcore it got sometimes) but if you can stomach it i recommend

i really want to know if the creator hype lives up to it. anyone seen it yet?

Saw The Creator today, loved it. It has a few wonky plot threads but man it was GORGEOUS.

This convinced me to read the Wikipedia entry on it, but I'm lost so you probably need to know what happens in the others.
