I think there were some rumors about some alleged [Spoiler (click to open)]abuse/violence/sexual assault with his past girlfriends. This was around the time that information was leaking about Aziz and Michael Fassbender, too, so I think it got swept under the rug and brushed off as just rumors, etc.
