To be fair I’ve only read It ends with us, but nothing I’ve heard about her other books makes me think it’s that different from her other work.

Personally I just have a problem with Coleen Hoover being marketed and recommended as romance or ”easy reads”. The writing may be easy, but the subjects certainly aren’t.
But exactly the same goes for people who goes around recommending A little life as ”beautiful”

-the plotlines romanticize a lot of trauma and I honestly do not find that kind of thing appealing
-I hate having the character POV change every single chapter. I prefer reading first or third person narratives that stay consistent throughout.
-Again, extremely individual, but I do not like her writing style. It is disjointed and repetitive. I almost couldn’t get through the ACOTAR series for the same reason. It felt like SJM got an extra $ if she threw in the same phrases on every page.

I think her writing is bad and her choices are questionable. I do not like her and I'm sick of seeing her name everywhere. I've read worse books by even worse authors lol. I worry about people who find the toxic relationships romantic and ~couple goals!!~ though.
I also think people are super dramatic about recommendations that come from BookTok. If you're expecting some life changing books from there, that's on you.
