I fell of a bicycle in Holland and landed really awkwardly mostly on my left knee which shattered. I also dislocated my right shoulder at the same time.

I still have weird sensation over my lower leg on the side that broke and can't kneel on both knees because it doesn't feel right.

I hope she is well and can recover. I know age is not on her side with this but I hope she will be healthy and ok.

Everybody needs to take precaution in your home. Yes, older people tend to fall more but it can happen to anybody. You also don't know,unless you've done test and stuff, until something happens that maybe your bones aren't as great as you think they are at any age.

I'm still young and able-bodied and those walk in tubs seem awesome to me.

I had surgery in August. After a week I was given clearance to bathe. I almost got stuck because pulling myself out of the tub was above what I was supposed to lift or pull.

I've been fantasizing about those walk-in tubs ever since

Yup I'm an occupational therapist and I think constantly about equipment I'd need in my home, how to accommodate my parents as they age, etc.

i hope she is able to recover comfortably, femur fractures are very intense.
