If they don't settle both strikes in the next two weeks, the studios won't be able to do proper promo for their big fall/winter Oscar movies.
Next year's scripted TV/streaming shows will also be so far behind, they might not have anything new to show at all.
The strikes have also kept ADR work from being done on movies that have been filmed and are awaiting release, so I'm sure that's also been on the studio's minds.
It’s a final touch that lets them redub lines that might be hard to hear in the original take. You need the actual actor to do it, and often the film is hard to release without it.
