i understand using a ghostwriter for a memoir or something, or how people like james patterson use ghostwriters to crank out a crazy number of books. but i don't understand making this new career venture that you arent actually even doing yourself? why would there be a particular market for her to have a book? so odd

Same, it just makes her look not very creative. Puzzling choice.

"It was hot - the kind of heat that makes you long for the weather to cool down."

it's like when someone does your hw and they make it a little bad so it's believable you did it. we'll shoot for a B - fam, nobody gonna believe you got an A+.

It just reminded me of this thing Amber Sparks said about how the best money she ever got was for ghost writing and she cared so little about the project she wrote the last section half drunk at a party and got no notes back.

I don't want to be dramatic, but I think I would die for Bill Hader

THIS IS SO DEAD ON. He was doing that in his Fairy Tale book too! This kid is 17 but has the mind of your grandfather talking about his summer days before the 4th of July festival. I was like, the fuck is this kid doing? He needed a smoke or hit up the arcade.

Nah, it's still obvious it was ghost written. Basic common sense will tell ya.

I have no issue with ghost writers on memoirs, but it makes me irate that celebs use them to slap their names on novels as merch. The whole frigging point of writing a novel is your narrative voice.

I think if the novel is about something the celebrity in question would have a unique perspective on (see my above example about Lauren Conrad lol) then there's some value in that ig but yeah otherwise it's dumb. only makes sense if it's ultimately just a vehicle to make an adaptation

This... and her name and person will get all the attention and 99% of the cred while she sat there playing Hogwarts Legacy for hours with her acrylic nails
