I was wondering how DC was going to react to the public domain thing LOL.

idgi is he dumb? Why'd he think he could just make Fables public domain if it's owned by a company?

Like a lot of things, Willingham likely doesn't understand copyright law.

That Willingham thing was weird.
Most of Fables' characters are from old tales so someone could write something similar and better than OUAT anyway.

Oh good point, all the fairytale stuff is public domain so maybe Bill isn't actually doing anything.

Also, make your own IPs people! Fables are fine. These characters are not so unique that new ones can't be made.

birds of prey #1 was great. i love everything kelly thompson does and i’ve always been a fan of dinah and cass, so it’s exciting to see her tackle them. i’m also really loving her barda. fingers crossed this becomes an ongoing and dc treats her (and all the other female creatives who jumped ship from marvel) way better than marvel/the x-men office ever did

with the exception of al ewing’s stuff, current x-men makes me yawn. the same eight characters keep sucking up all the oxygen in every event/big book when there’s so much more shit that could be explored with that backdrop. dropping every title except maybe red until tom brevoort finally takes over that office next year and the current editor and his little boys club exit.

(i was excited for dark x-men and uncanny avengers 4.0… but gambit and rogue are shunted to the background once again while still front and center on all the covers to trick their fans into buying these titles. no more! my dumbass finally learned my lesson from the last four years of krakoa lol)
