So sad. He was living in Austin at the time of his passing, and his neighbors have nothing but kind things to say about him. It was clear to them that he'd been struggling.
This is very sad, but when I heard that he had bi-polar disorder and manic depression, I wasn't actually shocked.
Some of the more intense performers tend to struggle with mental illness. Roscoe Born was another one, and their fates ultimately paralleled each other in a lot of ways. This obviously doesn't mean that it's always the case, but like I said, when I heard he was struggling it was saddening but not surprising.
Billy's performance as Ritchie, while significantly shorter than his performance as Drew/Jason, made more of an impact on me, but he definitely was a talented performer and he will be missed.

I know it's typical terminology, but something about losing the fight in either a mental health context or illness context bugs me.
I guess it is a fight between me and my brain, but IDK. I wish there was another word.
