His point about 'who could vote 100 years ago?' reminds me of this argument I had with a former housemate's boyfriend because he hated that voting is compulsory here. And it just pissed me off because so many people fought for their right to vote, and we see what happens in the US where the fact that it isn't compulsory seems to be taken advantage of to make it more difficult for people in certain demographics to vote

Technically in Australia it's only compulsory to show up and get your name ticked off the list anyway. If you really don't want to vote, leave the ballot empty or draw a dick or whatever. But I'd rather have a few extra people vote because they have to show up anyway than the alternative that people are denied the chance to vote

Precisely I vote every chance I get because my ancestors couldn't, then had to struggle to and all I have to do is walk down the street. I use to leave some things blank like school board because I don't have kids but now when those kinds of things are on the ballot I try to look up each of the candidates because now school boards in the US are in jeopardy of nonsense.

Why did I see a tweet with thousands of likes and retweets showing how all of the uk papers had this as the front page story and this account was like “wow it’s like they had this all ready to go, reminds me of papers on the day after 9/11” like hello?? Of course the papers can rush out breaking news stories quickly especially in the case of 9/11, the biggest foreign attack on US since ww2 I cannot..the need to turn everything into some kind of conspiracy is exhausting. I won’t be surprised if more stories come out at this point and I hope all of the victims find peace and healing

Do people not understand how news works?

I think this is key. Despite all the info at our fingertips there are a lot of people who don't know how things work, but don't realize the problem is their ignorance. You could also see this in the rigged election conspiracies.

Sean ;-; we lost him far too soon.

I’m too angry to come up with a coherent comment about Brand.

People are also bringing this up from 10 years ago.

First 30 secs and do you notice Jimmy kinda pissed and uncomfortable from 0:18-0:25 secs

Yeah slightly reminded me of Jimmy Kimmel having to kick Andy Dick off the show cause he wouldn't stop touching Ivanka Trump when she was on in the early 00s after being repeatedly warned.

Sean Lock was such a fucking treasure. I've been on a cats does countdown kick lately and it's been just going back and forth between laughing at how funny he is and then getting bummed out when I remember that he's gone :(.

This was truly such a fantastic take down. You can tell how genuinely fed up he was with Brand's bullshit, and didn't take anybody's attempts to try and justify all the faux political crap.
