Movies running for Best Picture in the Oscars have to meet diversity rules behind or in front of the camera to qualify now.

Mads is definitely a tool but the transcription of this question makes it sound like obvious bait, and very weird framing. Like the journalist was basically trying to ask if their movie that's set in Denmark in the 1750s was racist for not being diverse...I think some of the other people answered it well. It's a worthwhile question but like, that's a question to ask the studios, not the lead actors. What are they gonna say to that? "Oh yeah you're right, the movie we just made which I'm now promoting is irredeemably un-diverse?"

Like unless I'm misreading something here I feel like this was definitely the journo being an ass. There are a lot of ways to frame a question about race in a movie like this, but "do you think this will fail a diversity quota because everyone in it is Scandinavian" is...not it LOL.

Oh the journalist definitely baited him.... he just should've been smarter to see that and answer with a better remark than that.

"Well, first of all, the film takes place in Denmark in the 1750s"

What exactly are people expecting? Mads has said lots of dumb shitty stuff in the past, but this is pointless.
