I just want to put on the record that, although I might watch it before October, I think we should add Jacob's Ladder to the October spooky watch list. The original one, not the remake.

Bahaha I wanted to ask if you meant the original or the remake to give you a hard time. I need to give the original another shot. It was not what I expected (not in a bad way) so now that I’ve experienced it I do want to rewatch with others.

Even my roommate at the time was like “wtf is on our tv” 😂

Why did they shoehorn pro-imperialism into this movie? The talk they have in bed after their first time about how they’re compatible because they’re both from “conquering countries”? Very, very weird. And then the finale when they hold hands in the war room and watch the first drone strikes in a new war that UK and USA are launching? Is Netflix pivoting politically?

Yeah apparently the director was really inspired by Nick’s MAGA performance in Purple Hearts and wanted to continue the pro-military agenda - very brave imo, especially in a times like these where gays are no longer allowed to also want to drone strike brown people. He said exclusion? I don’t know ha.

There is a Teleparty app for Android devices that you could theoretically use. I say theoretically because Teleparty is notoriously buggy. I only have Apple devices so I can’t test that out beforehand. :( If you don’t have any Android devices you have to be watching on a laptop or desktop using Google Chrome and the Teleparty extension.
