"I'm shook no one intervened"

I'm not.

1, Men are afraid of other men

2.A lady was attacked with a brick for rejecting a man and no men did anything; Other people tried to justify the attack online.

I'm sure a group could have intervened but no one wants to be the person taking the first step in case the asshole gets litigious. At least there's a recording that won't be erased.

Plus bystander syndrome: "surely any minute now someone will intervene".

A woman was once s*xually assaulted on a train and not only did no one intervene or call the police, someone filmed it.

I definitely think we've gotten to this sick place in society where a lot of people think just documenting is enough. And yeah, that can be useful, but there are other steps you can take to safely intervene.

This really pisses me off..when people just watch someone being harassed and do nothing. Almost like its none of their business..how about humanity?! Jesus.

It reminds me of the time when some man was following me when I walked back home for the doctors, and I entered an 7-11 asked a fellow woman to help me, i told her a man in a van was following me and she told me "then call the police" and walked away and kept shopping..

Ugh, I'm so sorry. That's so horrible and scary.

Not to excuse that woman but I think a lot of people don't know how to intervene. There's this Canadian activist, Julie Lalonde, who offers free bystander intervention courses that teach you how to intervene safely and I can't recommend it enough. It's literally just a live zoom presentation and you don't have to participate at all.

One thing that really stood out to me, personally is that I always thought I had to intervene aggressively but she presents all sort of safe, non-aggressive, victim focused ways of intervening.

She advertises them here if anyone is interested:

Thank you,it was..it still scares me today. And I still have to walk down that road when I go to the doctors..

I understand..to be honest if I was in her shoes I would of have not known what to do either. I just remember being so scared and wishing someone would help me.

Wow, that's really interesting! Everyone would watch this. I know I will. Thank you for the link and your kind words.

I was at a concert once, and there was this incredibly drunk guy who was being so handsy with a girl he obviously didn't know. She was uncomfortable and kept trying to pull away, but he continued to hold her tight with his arm wrapped around her, and none of her friends were doing anything. I WANTED to just go over and push the guy off, but I was worried he'd get violent, so instead I went over and linked my arm through hers and started to talk about the band as if we were friends and slowly pulled her away, and he was clearly so annoyed, but he finally let go and wandered off. I was really scared going over, honestly, because you never know how men will act, but I'm glad I did. She needed an out but didn't have one. It's shame I couldn't just shove him, though.

I know he's doing nothing, but three children?

How dare you! He's on the prestigious show The Masked Singer.

Considering he's by Nick Cannon I'm surprised he doesn't have 20 kids.

Ugh, I'm getting chills from those pictures. It's all too familiar with me how men get jokingly handsy and grabby and huggy and are "just having fun" when it's really a way to assert dominance.

The final sentence is so depressing. I googled and they've been together since she was 19. Jesus fuck. Poor her. Those poor kids.
