- I had a hard time watching handmaids tales after learning Elizabeth Moss was a Scientologist. It completely ruined the show for me.

Yeah, I'd have to go with anything Johnny Depp.

I wasn't so much a Pirates girl as I was an Edward Scissorhands / Tim Burton in general one. I even liked Dark Shadows.

Also Mark Pellegrino's Lucifer. Which is unfortunate given how much he shows up on SPN, but dear God that guy is an arsehole.

yeah Mark's a rough one because I loved him on Lost and I was really happy when he joined Supernatural, then I started seeing things about on Twitter and... ugh.

He's a big defender of 'free speech' and seems to spend a lot of his time arguing with people on Twitter. And it's gone on for yeaaaaars.

I've said before as the lone person on this site who likes the 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory adaptation, it sucks that Debt is in it even though he does a good job, because that doesn't absolve him from being a piece of incompetent shit in real life.

You're not alone LOL I like that one, too. Or did.

Same, I enjoyed the kids in that one more than the Gene Wilder one, and Deep Roy's performances as all the oompa looompas were so spot on. in a lot of ways (aside from the nonsensical "daddy was a dentist" plot) it hewed much closer to the book.

- Anything Johnny Depp. It's almost time for all of the Tim Burton movies to come into season. I've had the itch to watch Sleepy Hollow, but can't bring myself because it's too depressing to watch him in it.

Also, yeah, JKR too. It's very easy for people to jump in 20 years later when she's shown her ass and go "Oh I ALWAYS KNEW her books were bad I AM A VISION IN THE NEW " but they really got people involved with a pretty cool (if in hindsight, blatantly status-quo-y and fatphobic) world.

Yeah, I don't doubt a lot of people clocked her ass long ago as far the writing goes but I can honestly say any racist/problematic undertones of HP flew right by my head when I read the books the first time and when I revisited them in my early 20s.

Nothing JKR has done or will do can change the fact that HP made my teenage years better, that it was a huge part of my childhood, and not many things in my life can compare to the rush of happiness I felt when reading the next part of the series or seeing the next film for the first time (although I’d always hated those but still felt excited when they came out). I cannot change the past.
