GQ is here to answer a question I didn't even know existed. GQ polled 30 men about the etiquette of wearing shorts to the office.

I've seen some cute formal short sets (Petra on Jane the Virgin, Vivian in Pretty Woman) so I vote yes. I can't imagine cute formal short sets for men but I'm sure they exist. Aren't men's suit requirements part of why many offices are so arctic in the summer?

I have a pair of formal men’s shorts from Public School. They’re suuuuch nice fabric

I... actually had this dilemma today when trying to figure out what to wear as a therapist-in-training lol. I mean, the shorts was the same fabric and texture you'd expect from everyday work pants the difference is just the length. I ended up not wearing them though since they're on the short side (5 inch seam), but I've def wore them to lab meetings before lol

I wear skirts and jumpsuits, so why would the society say no to shorts? Those double standards are rather harmful.

Depends of the job field. Like in healthcare I don't think so.

I once worked a clinic day (he was consulting patients for upcoming surgeries so everyone could see his outfit) with an anaesthetist who came in wearing bright red board short style shorts. With a business shirt, untucked. It was not good.
