Jodie and Tom are certainly making choices with their accents.

Tom Hardy sounds like the godfather on helium. What is going on lmao feels like a Sons of Anarchy prequel.

I'll probably watch it. Mike Faist <3 and Did I see Dewey Crowe from Justified? Bless.

Hoping I'll get used to the accents once I'm watching the movie, because they do stand out here.

I'm not entirely sold on Austin Butler, but I'm hoping this changes my mind. He was great in Elvis, but I feel like I need to watch him in something completely different to see what his range looks like, and this seems like it will work for that purpose.

Happy to see Mike Faist!

I always enjoy when someone tries to make an Americana movie but then hires British actors for a movie requiring specific regional American accents. Americans can't even do American accents half the time.

I'm neither American nor British but I have noticed that Americans just can't do British accents at all, some British actors on the other hand could pass for Americans. Don't know why an American accent seems easier to pull off.

Well a generic American accent is one thing, a regional accent is a whole 'nother. Look at the chaos of accents on True Blood, for example. Also everyone who does a southern accent based on Foghorn Leghorn.

There's a whole scientific reason but it mostly has to do with the shapes your mouth makes when you're speaking in certain accents. It's easier for British speakers to make the right mouth shapes for American accents (GENERIC American accents, not regional ones), but it's harder the other way around.
