She makes most of her money on the conservative lecture circuit these days, I found out from reading about this. It weirdly makes sense as I remember her talking about judicial reform and jury nullification during the promo cycles for HSM.

and if she did cause the other person pain and suffering, she or her insurance should pay up. the person suing her will have to prove that, which isn't easy. they'll need dated medical records, pay stubs, etc. for damages if they're actually planning to take her to court...interesting to see how this pans out, since now they'll have to pay court fees, etc. since she's not settling.
I would hate to be famous. obviously if I was at fault I would feel awful to the point that I would admit fault and then they'd just extort me for the rest of my life, or I wouldn't be at fault and then i'd spend my entire life getting sued for shit I didn't do by people I don't know. I can imagine it now.

Just knowing the street/area it happened on is painfully congested most of the time... it's hard to imagine Ashley Tisdale could get to the kinds of speeds that would cause $140k in medical expenses and $600k of damage to someone's life, but I don't know the details. I'm googling, but I can't find much additional detail about the accident itself.
For $600k to be the fair settlement, it seems like it would be the level where cars were totalled and/or the person had an overnight (or longer) hospital stay or crashing into a house Pete Davidson-style. Then again, medical bills just to check if you're okay mount up quickly in the US, so maybe it doesn't even need to be that severe to get into $140k of debt on treating the effects of whiplash.
