That’s really scary. Location filming during a thunderstorm is crazy, you’ve got people holding boom mics and all sorts of stuff that will act as lightning conductors.

Also thinking of the episode of ER where Kerry Weaver sent Jerry the desk clerk out in a storm and everyone was “YOU SENT JERRY OUT DURING A THUNDERSTORM OMG.”

When you think about all the equipment used for film... Terrible idea. I hope the person who was hurt gets every dime.

Sue them for all their worth!

Even freaking little leagues know to shut down and get to safety if there’s nearby lightning

I'm so happy he's not afraid to do it!

This is not going to end well for Jensen. Situations like this one tend to spark dialogue about on-set safety, and given the strikes, people are already pretty riled up. He didn't need to be directly involved here, he's still the face of the show, and most of the responsibility could fall on him. Unless he gets himself a good team of spin doctors, that is.

Nah. Ryan Reynolds is responsible for the death of a woman on set and it hasn't affected him at all.

Nah. Ryan Reynolds was found to be responsible for a woman's death on the Deadpool 2 set and they just paid a fine and moved on.

And I haven't even heard about it, which speaks volumes about the people who work for him and his image :(

I’m about to make a crazy comment.
These mother fuckers need to be more concerned about their money. Companies do not care about keeping people (employees or customers) safe. They care about keeping their money safe. That is why they tend to be overly cautious for lawsuits. Take the immediate loss versus however much the eventual lawsuit/settlement costs.

Isn't it like with airlines and overbooking, though? They made their Math, and it's more beneficial to pay 1+ mln once every year, then to cancel hundreds of shooting days?

The problem with greedy a-holes is that they usually know their numbers.

Public image costs a lot, but in this case, it's not like there's anything left of CW TV.

I would hope that there’d be a major fine of some sort. Ideally, his settlement would be at least 1.5x what it cost them to film that day.

I don’t know what organizations monitor these things. But it’s like when there are fines when a company’s safeguards don’t prevent hackers.

Yeah, I hope there's some external pressure involved here. Otherwise, risking one settlement for the price of many productions, it seems like a money grab territory :(
