He defended Scooter so much over the years, the least he could do is let Justin go without drama

yep also confirmed by a music journalist on The Town yesterday too. all of the artists leaving him now will still be tied to him in one way (financially lbr) for “several” years to come

Some correct me if I’m wrong but if the artist leaves Scooter before their contract ends, they will have some financial obligation to him for the next four years. One user said it was pretty standard for the industry but I can’t comment on that.

Amendments to their deal three years ago and he still has four years left? How long is a standard contract?

Lot of them are long as hell

Idk why when people talk about kpop contracts being crazy long I thought American industry ones would be that much shorter but ofc it's whatever is worst for the artist

Bc in kpop he'd have 10 years left (on paper). lol In practice Justin might have more left than 4 years, I understand it might extend, too.

Tbh the whole article does not point to much other then Justin is signed long term and it’s gonna be a mess to get out of his current deal. Also he seems he be dropping everyone. Also they kind of focus in on Justin (and a lesser extent Ariana) bc it sounds like the others all left at various points earlier this year/last year and likely at the end of contracts/without much legal affairs ( ... )

It does seem that he wants to be done with scooter and fired the lawyer scooter got 4 him so he's feeling burnt in some way. It also confirmed the sunset clause thingy

It sounds like justin's kinda fucked no? Like he did not handle his business well

Kinda sad because he clearly did not have people looking out for his best interests financially at all

i don't think anyone has ever looked out for his best interests, full stop.
