Someone in the last Barbie post said that someone in Hollywood was probably thinking “hey, Barbie/Batman crossover” and now I want that to be my “Barbie 2 - The Chronicles of Allan” plot line:

Billionaire industrialist Bruce Wayne (Rob Pattinson) buys Mattel. But he doesn’t know that Ruth Handler once worked for the Wayne family, and Bruce had a brother who survived the attack on his family because she hid him in Barbieland. It’s actually a thinkpiece on capitalism, crime, social exclusion, mental illness and family. Allan’s bat suit has pink wings.

Scott Pilgram is one of my favorite movies ever. He’s a lowkey celeb who’s been in some iconic films

i've watched arrested development (s1-3) so many times on a loop, it's my depression comfort show, and it's honestly stopped occurring to me how YOUNG he is at the start. and yet he holds his own against these powerhouse comedy actors like jessica walter and david cross (yes yes, cross is a piece of shit, but he's very good as tobias)!

some of the standout lines from the whole show are george michael, and some of the moments i've laughed at the hardest have been him too. he really is a talented comedian and i don't think i've ever disliked a performance. he seems like a genuinely nice dude too, so that's nice.

I don’t understand how Mattel hasn’t rereleased Allan.

I’m sure Mattel are absolutely kicking themselves that they’ve been too conservative in their their range and volumes of tie-in dolls. They sold out of most lines on their website but they probably fixed the numbers at least a year ago. They’re doing a special order “Weird Barbie’ with delivery “by April 2024” - and that’s with firm sales.
The lead time for stuff like that is ages - production lines are booked up months in advance. The big toy fairs are in January/February where they show products to buyers for the Christmas after next.
