That is actually one of my pet peeves in a lot of TV shows(and fan fiction lol). Where they use a friend as a sperm donor or egg donor. The egg donor thing also really bothers me because they’ll also be the gestational surrogate. Especially when it’s an ex. How realistic is that?

TV shows are so stupid sometimes. Esp 00s teen shows. Like why were the characters acting like they were 45 when they were barely in their 20s. Especially Nathan and Haley. It was so cringeworthy.

Oh lord. Nathan and Haley had such potential...only for them to kill off any of it with them getting married in SEASON 1. They could've done far more with the fact Nathan only went after her to piss off Lucas - yet it's glossed over and forgiven. Then they had to make up some bullshit drama about a tour because they couldn't do anything else since they're married now....the reconciliation was bs too as was their second wedding and kid. Like fuck off with that.

Ia gree. In hindsight with nathan and haley, every school has that couple that weirdly get together as hs sweethearts and stay together and you dont get why. It fits for them because nathan had no stable family and she was insecure and a kind of a standoffish douche. But its not a great love story for sure. It is relatively realistic for a basic boring small town couple I think but a shitty show.

I'm sure it happens sometimes (in showbusiness and such), but the idea of a 22 year old having already achieved their career aspirations feels so silly to me.

I’ve never watched this show and I read the italicized part first and then went back up to read the rest and I was so confused. Wait, the character is 22? I thought it said she owned a big company. Oh, huh? Wait, a 22 year old is deciding to become a solo parent by choice?? Just every single part of it is bonkers.

the characters were insanely successful lol Brooke has her own fashion line (she builds her website in one night, launches it, and gets a billion orders that same night, while in high school lol), Peyton literally has like a record company or a club or something possibly when she's in high school or at least developing, Haley gets to tour with michelle branch/open for sheryl crow, like WHAT

Nothing annoys me more than super young characters having an unrealistic career or a comical number of degrees that are much more believable for someone decades older. I guess writers/casting are allergic to characters over 30 or 35?

These types of storylines are gross. Women can feel fulfilled with and without children.

I also found it highly unbelievable that she would have a multi-million dollar company at 23, but I digress.
