Hard disagree. Getting hit with stuff happens to the artist only. Gender reveal bullshit happens to us all. Regressive in the first place and then sometimes it starts wildfires.

If I had to have a gender reveal party one day (Me and children do not match) it would just be something food related like a fun cake or something. That's really the limit of my energy. Although recently in a dream I had TWINS. I named them Thomas and Michael, they were adorable with yellow eyes.
